The Milwaukee Brewers and Kansas City Royals will begin a brief two-game series when they meet at Miller Park in Milwaukee on Tuesday night. Kansas City won a makeup with Los Angeles on Monday but is still a horrendous 2-11 in its last 13 contests. The Brewers are coming off a four-game set with St. Louis in which they took the first two and then lost two straight.

In late April, Milwaukee visited Kauffman Stadium and outscored the Royals, 11-4 in a two-game sweep. Kansas City is now 24-54 on the season after losing two of three games at Houston over the weekend. The good news for the Royals is that first baseman Lucas Duda returned from a long DL stint due to plantar fasciitis to hit a home run on Saturday against the Astros. He’s hit safely in all three games since missing 35 contests. He’s not there for a long term as the Royals could end up trading the slugger for a prospect or two if he can show that he’s healthy.

The Royals will send right-hander Jakob Junis to the mound, who is 5-8 with a 4.43 ERA this season. Junis has lost five straight games and is winless in six consecutive starts. He pitched decently in his last start on Wednesday, allowing three runs on five hits in a 3-2 loss to Texas.

Milwaukee won their first two games against St. Louis in the four-game series at home, but they lost the next two, including an 8-2 defeat on Sunday. Star outfielder Ryan Bruan may have snapped out of a slump with a double and a run scored on Sunday. He’s now 4-for-24 over his last eight games. In their series against Kansas City on April 24-25, Braun went 5-for-8 with three runs scored.

Duffy has been the definition of up and down lately, alternating horrendous starts with shutouts over his last four starts, including six shutout innings against Houston last time up. The problem is that even with the good outings, the Royals continue to play some of the worst baseball in the majors, continuously finding ways to lose on a daily basis. Suter isn’t a household name necessarily, but the Brewers have won six of his last seven starts by a combined score of 61-16 in those wins. I think it’s safe to say that the Brewers on the run line is a reasonable pick for Wednesday’s card.
